BotCon 2014!

As some of you guys may know, I will be attending BotCon in Pasadena next month. I'll be sharing a booth/table with Jeff Martinez selling prints and doing commissions. If you'll be attending, please stop by! (booth # is pending)

These 12"x18" prints will be available at BotCon! Along with a few others if you missed out last year.

Sketches

Figured I'd take some time today to do some sketch studies/exploration. Haven't done any silhouette-y type thumbnails in a while, so it was fun to crank some of these guys out. Definitely Creaturebox inspired.

Then I felt the need to practice combining shapes and making interesting shapes/objects. My shapes and designs are getting way too bland/boring/generic, so this was a good exercise for me to help broaden my design choices.

And finally got around to finishing this piece that I started.. months ago. One down.. a crap ton more to go!

A viking and his pet bear

A buddy of mine wanted to see an old sketch of this all colored up. So I went ahead and did just that to start off my weekend. I changed a few minor things from the original sketch and tweaked the composition. I'll post the process in the next few days. It's always fun to paint in color! Helps me keep things a bit more vibrant.

JAGS RPG Book Illustrations

Couple of grayscale illustrations I did for an RPG book last year that I forgot about. Thought I'd polish them up a bit and post them here.

Fantasy Aliens

An alien concept for an idea I'm messing around with. Trying to establish a look and feel for the world I'm thinking of.

Soundwave Superior.

I wanted to do a moody Transformer painting after being inspired by some of James Zapata's warm-up sketches. Don't think I've done a 'moody' type piece in a long time, so this was fun.

Solid Snake, Optimus Prime

Metal Gear X Transformers! Two of some of my favorite franchises in one drawing. Autobots team up with Solid Snake to bring down Liquid and Metal Gear. I'll be doing a short series of these leading up to a print for Comikaze come November.
