Study and study

About a 2 hour portrait study. Scene from Shutter Island.

This one is from Inglorious Basterds. Took about a half hour. Just wanted to focus on shapes and colors.

Some progress for the prints I'm making for BotCon. I'll probably end up changing some things as the con gets closer and before I send it off to the printers. C&C are all welcome!

Stylized works

I've been in the mood to draw more stylized as of late and I'm finding it a bit more relaxing and fun than trying to achieve something more towards (hyper) realism. I'm exploring different types of shapes, genres, and process to achieve my goals. More to come as I continue exploring this.

Viking and pet

Studies

Going back to some basic anatomy studies trying to re-learn all the areas I'm weakest at. Which is everythiiiiing. It was good to go over these again and get a good refresher on where the planes go, shapes of the muscles, etc.

Referenced heavily on Michael Hampton's anatomy book. I studied some of the images from the book and redrew them and others from imagination trying to apply what I've learned.

Sketching

Didn't get to do too much sketching this week. Wanted to spend about an hour before I turned in for the night.

Worked on this last week. Not sure if I want to take it to a super tight finish or noodle on it for a little bit longer. Maybe after I finish my TF prints. Hmmmm...!

Finally finished it! This shall one day be a print. Probably for BotCon.

SD Autobots

Sketch phase! I'm thinking about adding Grimlock in there somewhere or just do a Dinobot version on their own. This one is definitely going to be a fun one to paint up.

Sci-Fi Characters

Trying out something more stylized with sci-fi. Details might be too much for this type of style. Not too sure.
